Some really shocking information comes from Poland. Their Volleyball Federation allegedly considers to implement penalties for refusing to play for National team!

Polish media got confirmation by anonymous source from the Federation:

We just want to send a clear signal to the players and the staff. For now, we will just ask and appeal, but we do not rule out taking more radical measures. We can not afford that, for example, coach of the women’s national team could not count on several best volleyball players, as it was in recent period” – said the source.

The punishment might be even taking the volleyball licence for some time, if this suggestion would be adopted.

I’m against the idea to punish players who refuse to play the Polish national team. First of all, nowhere is it written that there is a duty to represent the national colors. Prescriptive system is not the way we should follow. We are probably the only country in the world which is considering this” – commented Richard Bosek, famous Polish player and ex national team coach.
