Asseco Resovia Rzeszów ended the year in a victorious manner, beating Cuprum Lubin in Round 13 of the 2021/22 Polish Men’s Volleyball Championship.
Lubin missed their chances of outplaying Resovia on the debut of legendary Argentine expert Marcelo Méndez on the bench of their rivals. The Rzeszów side was a favorite in Round 13’s encounter in the 2021/22 PlusLiga, but this season it has failed in justifying this role several times. However, that was not the case tonight as the shock therapy that followed replacing Alberto Giuliani with Méndez bore fruits, at least, for now. Lubin squandered the lead of 18-13 in the third set and an opportunity to reach 2-1.
With 19 points, Slovenian Klemen Čebulj led the quintet of Resovia players in double digits in scoring. Him compatriot Jan Kozamernik made five blocks.
