Dmytro Pashytskyy, who left the Russian men’s volleyball side Zenit Saint Petersburg on March 2, became the new member of Trefl Gdańsk.
After leaving Zenit St. Petersburg and Russia along with several of his countrymen due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Pashytskyy has been training with Trefl. The Polish club has been making an effort to recruit a player ever since and now, the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), as well as the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV), Polish federation (PZPS), and Polish league (PlusLiga), have approved the transfer of Ukrainian player with a Russian passport to Trefl. His contract is valid until the end of 2021/22 PlusLiga.
It’s no coincidence that a 34-year-old middle blocker has chosen Trefl as his new destination given it was the last team in Poland for which he competed before moving to Russia in 2017.
