In a their opening clash of the Tauron Liga season, DevelopRes Rzeszów — the reigning Polish champions — began title defense with an 3–1 victory over BKS Bostik ZGO Bielsko-Biała.

BKS Bielsko-Biała fought back in the third set, fueled by home support, and managed to turn the momentum in their favor with a 25–19 win.
