The reigning champions of Poland parted ways with head coach Giuseppe Cuccarini last week and placed his assistant Jacob Gluszak at the helm of the team. Gluszak had a successful debut, as Chemik Police defeated Ostrowiec in straight sets, while the club’s president confirmed that Polish coach will lead the team until the end of the season.
“One of our primary goals in this season was to qualify for the CEV Champions League Final Four. However, we got eliminated already in the first round of the Playoffs and that is why we decided to part ways with Cuccarini. Coach Głuszak will be head coach until the end of the current season. There are very important goals in front of him, as we are fighting for the championship title and for the national cup. Therefore, we will focus on our present, and we do not intend to search for a new head coach at the moment,” said Chemik Police president Joanna Żurowska
