Players coached by Plamen Konstantinov flatly beat Belgium 3-0 (25-10, 25-22, 25-23) in the last, third, round of the tournament which was played in front of 3,000 spectators at “Tauron Arena” in Kraków.
Thus, Bulgaria finished with 3 wins from 3 games and 7 points. Belgium finished at the last, fourth, place without a win and with only one point at their account.
Tsvetan Sokolov played a great game for the Bulgarian NT, collecting 20 points. Bulgaria’s captain Viktor Yosifov added 14 points (9 blocks!). For the Belgians, Pieter Verhees scored eight points.
In the last match of the 14th edition of the Wagner Memorial, Poland started the match flawlessly and took 2-0 lead in sets. However, Serbia made a turnaround and took the match in a tie-break to claim silver medal 3-2 (17-25, 22-25, 25-18, 25-19, 15-11).
