In the blockbuster of the second round of PlusLiga, Polish champions Zaksa Kędzierzyn-Koźle lost to last season's bronze medalists, PGE Skra Bełchatów 3-1 (22-25, 28-26, 26-24, 25-23).

Zaksa vs. Skra

For one player, this was a special match. Ukrainian middle blocker Jurii Gladyr spent previous seven seasons in Zaksa, but now returned to their gymnasium as a rival. Recall that, due to a change of the regulations in PlusLiga regarding foreigners, Zaksa did not extend a contract with him.

About the game itself, it was a fierce battle in each set, but the second was highly dramatic. Skra had 16:12, but the hosts managed to level. Still, they did not have enough strength to make full turnaround and probaly turn the course of the match on their side.

Mariusz Wlazły scored 24 points for Skra while Dawid Konarski had 21 in Zaksa.

I watched the game and I don’t remember that Skra was leading by 8 points. It was a very close game in each set, and none of the teams had more than 4 points lead in the whole game.

Ok someone did change the article, as I wrote before 4 points was the biggest difference in this game.
