Marcin Możdżonek, a former captain of Poland national team, sustained an injury in Round 23 of Plus Liga 2017/18 and will be sidelined for several months.
Namely, according to Przegląd Sportowy, Możdżonek will have to undergo a thigh muscle surgery and the season is over for him. Furthermore, he will not be at the disposal of the new Poland coach Vital Heynen for the inaugural edition of the FIVB Volleyball Nations League.
Możdżonek is the second Resovia middle blocker who got injured this season. The first one was Bartłomiej Lemański. The Plus Liga powerhouse has found a replacement for him but, since it already used the opportunity of engaging one medical joker, hiring another one would not be possible due to league regulations.
