After they prevailed in Game 1 of the best-of-three Plus Liga 2017/2018 playoff quarterfinals, on the road, the fourth-seed Resovia had a “match ball” for progressing to the semis in front of own crowd, but No.5 Olsztyn wanted to reach a decider, on Sunday, April 22. And they did it – 3-1 (30-28, 21-25, 25-15, 25-23).
The Czech Jan Hadrava topped Olsztyn with 22 points, including 4 aces and 3 kill blocks. Jakub Kochanowski made 5 kill blocks. The Frenchman Thibault Rossard scored 16 points for Resovia, while Dawid Dryja contributed with 4 kill blocks.
It is tied in the other quarterfinal duel as well as No.6 Jastrzębski Węgiel defeated third-seed Trefl Gdańsk by a 3-1 (23-25, 29-27, 25-17, 25-21) with Maciej Muzaj tallying 26 points. On the other side, Damian Schulz scored 27 points (4 kill blocks).
The top-seed and second-seed Zaksa Kędzierzyn-Koźle and PGE Skra Bełchatów, respectively, punched an automatic ticket for the semifinals.
