A 48-year-old Bulgarian expert Radostin Stoytchev moved to Stocznia Szczecin but not to take over the team as the head coach which was the option that, at first, appeared in the Polish media. Stoytchev, a long-time coach of Diatec Trentino in which he established himself a prominent expert, was appointed the sporting director of Szczecin.
„Radostin Stoytchev, an extremely valued and experienced coach, became the sporting director of Stocznia Szczecin. The Bulgarian will be primarily responsible for the long-term project of building a new and strong club, based on solid and proven structures,“ Szczecin published.
The greatest achievements of Stoytchev in his coaching career were: three titles in the CEV Champions League (all with Diatec Trentino), four titles in the FIVB Club World Championship (all with Diatec Trentino), one championship of Russia (Dinamo Moscow), two championships of Italy (all with Diatec Trentino) and three Italian cups (all with Diatec Trentino).
Last season he was at the helm of an Italian team Azimut Modena.
Recently, Szczecin signed the biggest Polish volleyball star, Bartosz Kurek.
