Lokomotiv-vs-Uralochka
The third seed Uralochka beat second-seed Lokomotiv on the road in the first semifinal match of the 2019/20 Superliga Parimatch playoffs. The Ekaterinburg team prevailed in four sets with three of them going into the overtime: 3-1 (23-25, 26-24, 25-22, 28-26). Game 2 will be held at Uralochka’s home ground on March 21.
Just like in the quarterfinals, semifinals will also be played until two victories. If the score of the games is tied (1-1) and both teams earn the same number of points, a Golden Set will decide on the overall winners. Lokomotiv turned to be a difficult opponent for Uralochka this season. The team coached by Nikolay Karpol lost both matches in the 2019/20 prior to today – one in the Cup and one in the regular season.
Kseniya Parubets top-scored for Uralochka with 31 points, while Ekaterina Evdokimova made 5 kill blocks. Cuban Ana Cleger tallied 23 points for Lokomotiv. Game 1 of the other semifinal duel (Dinamo-Kazan vs. Dinamo Moscoe) will be played in two days.
