Kuzbass
Kuzbass were pushed up against the ropes by Fakel in the first match of the eighth round of the 2020/21 Superliga Parimatch regular season for men.
In a duel of the teams that are settled in the top four in the charts, the Novy Urengoy side missed the opportunity to extend own winning streak to five games and inflict a third defeat in a row to Kuzbass in the competition – it squandered a lead in sets of 2-0. Partially, the club from Kemerovo won by 23-25, 22-25, 25-20, 25-15, and 15-13.
Ivan Zaytsev was Kuzbass’s most prolific player offensively with 27 points, while Mikhail Shcherbakov set up as many as 8 of the team’s 17 blocks. Maksim Zhigalov scored 20 points for Fakel. Vitaliy Dikarev made 5 blocks.
