The 9th-seed Proton stunned no.4 Dinamo Krasnodar at the start of the Preliminary Round of playoffs in the 2020/21 Russian Women’s Superliga Parimatch: 3-1 (20-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-22). Anastasiya Bavykina showed why she didn’t miss a single major international tournament with the Russia National Team until a couple of years ago. She poured in 21 points for Proton in their win today by which her team took revenge on Krasnodar for a defeat in the regular season, less than a week ago.
The no.8 Minchanka failed to upset the 5th-seed Leningradka. The team based in Belarus squandered a 2-0 lead in sets. Lokomotiv and Uralochka-NTMK also achieved victories at their respective playoff openers against Enisey and Lipetsk.
