In a closing match of the 6th round in Moscow, Dinamo Moscow handed Leningradka St. Petersburg their first defeat of the Russian Superliga, winning 3-1. The match showcased Dinamo Moscow’s dominance, particularly in blocking (18–7) and attacking, with standout performances from Irina Kapustina (24 points) and Ekaterina Pipunyrova (17 points). This victory propels Dinamo Moscow to the top of the tournament table, maintaining their undefeated status in the championship.
The match began with Leningradka taking an early lead in the first set (11-6), with Dynamo eventually drawing level (15-15). However, Leningradka, under Alexander Kashin’s guidance and with Daria Malygina’s impressive attacks, clinched the first set 25-21. Dinamo Moscow, however, rallied in the subsequent sets. They reduced errors and improved their serving and receiving, taking the second set 25-19.
Dinamo’s dominance continued in the third set, outperforming in blocking, attack execution, and reception quality. Ekaterina Evdokimova emerged as a key player for Dynamo, contributing significantly to the 25-12 set victory. The fourth set saw a resilient effort from Leningradka, but Dinamo Moscow decisively secured the match 25-20, avoiding a tie-break and cementing their leadership in the championship.
In big match of the round, Dinamo Ak Bars defeated Lokomotiv Kaliningrad 3-2 on the road. Angelina Lazarenko of Dinamo Ak Bars was the standout player, scoring 20 points with a remarkable 77% attack execution rate. Lokomotiv’s Turkish star Ebrar Karakurt scored 30 points but couldn’t prevent Dinamo Ak Bars from clinching victory in a nail-biting tie-break, ending 16-14 in favor of Kazan.
Other significant matches in the 6th round included victories for Tulitsa Tula, Proton Saratov, Zarechie Odintsovo, and Minchanka Minsk.
