Belgorod vs Matin Varamin

Taras Khtey, Belogorie Belgorod captain: “We knew that Matin Varamin was going to do well. We played the game at our best, maybe we lacked some power to finish the game earlier, but we qualified for the semifinals anyway and now we will keep fighting. Our job it’s not done yet.

Daniele Bagnoli, Matin Varamin coach: “I think we lost a very good chance to create much more problems to Belgorod. We proved that was possible, but probably due to our lack of experience at this level, we were unable to. We committed some key mistakes in specific moments of the match, but the behaviour of the players was excellent.

Gennady Shipulin, Belogorie Belgorod coach: “I advised the players that we have to respect every opponent. Iran has a good volleyball level, coach Bagnoli is a good coach and it might seem that we have some advantage, but these are very hard games to play. I’m satisfied about the qualification and that the players could pull themselves together. Now we have to perform the analysis of our next rival.
