The third round of the Russian Women’s Volleyball Championship commenced today with three matches, featuring a standout performance by Dinamo Ak Bars Kazan, who secured a 3-0 victory against Leningradka Saint Petersburg.
In the opening set, the teams were neck and neck, reaching an early 4-4 tie. Dinamo Ak Bars gained momentum with aces from Irina Koroleva and Brayelin Martínez, establishing a four-point lead. Leningradka rallied with key plays from Anastasija Svetnik on the block, Anastasiya Harelik attacking from the back row, and Anastasiya Chernova scoring from the zone four, narrowing the gap to 11-13. Despite their efforts, Dinamo Ak Bars, guided by coach Zoran Terzić, strengthened their lead with solid blocking and powerful attacks from Elizaveta Lukianova, ultimately taking the set 25-21.
The second set mirrored the competitiveness of the first, with teams trading points to a 5-5 stalemate. Dinamo Ak Bars began to pull away mid-set, thanks to improved attacking efficiency and contributions from Martínez and Svetlana Gatina, leading 15-12. Leningradka struggled with precision at the net, allowing Dinamo Ak Bars to extend their advantage. The Kazan team maintained their discipline and closed the set at 25-17.
In the third set, Leningradka’s Yulia Tsibulko showcased her offensive prowess, keeping the score tight at 6-6. However, Dinamo Ak Bars’ formidable hitters, particularly Gatina and Martínez, proved difficult to contain, pushing the score to 16-11. Attempts by Valeriya Romanova and Harelik to spark a comeback narrowed the deficit to 18-21, but a series of errors hindered Leningradka’s progress. Dinamo Ak Bars sealed the set 25-19, completing the match sweep.
Anastasiya Harelik emerged as Leningradka’s top scorer with 18 points. Anna Melnikova added 7 points, including three blocks. For Dinamo Ak Bars, Elizaveta Lukianova led the way with 17 points.
