
The first round of the Russian Women’s Volleyball SuperLiga wrapped up over the weekend. Defending champions Lokomotiv Kaliningrad opened with a solid 3–1 victory over Minchanka Minsk, while league newcomers Korabelka Saint Petersburg began their debut campaign with a 0–3 loss to Dynamo Moscow.
Omichka Omsk made a confident start, defeating Yenisei Krasnoyarsk 3–1 behind standout performances from Natalia Krotkova (19 points) and Vladislava Korzhova (18). In Saratov, Dynamo-Ak Bars Kazan overcame Proton 3–1, powered by Gaila Gonzalez (24) and Kamilla Rebrova (16).
Home fans in Odintsovo celebrated as Zarechye beat Dynamo-Metar Chelyabinsk 3–1, with Bogumila Biarda leading the scoring with 27 points. Dynamo Krasnodar also opened with a home win, sweeping Tulitsa Tula 3–0.
The most dramatic match came in Saint Petersburg, where Leningradka came back from two sets down to edge Uralochka-NTMK 3–2 in a thrilling tie-break, highlighted by Anna Melnikova’s 22 points.
The season will continue in a double round-robin format, with the top eight teams advancing to the playoffs and the lowest-ranked side relegated to the League A.
