Lube vs. Belogorie
Lube won the first set against the reigning champion of Europe, and had pretty good position in the fourth when it was ahead by 22-20. But, home team then missed several counterattacks in a row, and Belogorie won the crucial point for 22-21. Russian team then equalized to 22-22, and eventually won the set and the match at 25-23.
Top scorers in Belogorie were Gyorgy Grozer with 17 points, Sergey Tetyukhin with 16 and Dmitriy Muserskiy with 14 points. In the home side, Giulio Sabbi made 16, while Bartosz Kurek added 13 points.
The other CEV Champions League finalist from the last season also let its opponent to take only one set. HalkBank outplayed Tours away, thanks to Osmany Juantorena and Tsvetan Sokolov who made 16 points each. The best scorer of the game was David Konecny from Tours with 22 points.
Finally, Friedrichshafen collected the full package against Olympiacos after only 75 minutes.
