Aleksandr Volkov, who didn’t spend many time on the court in previous season due to injury, was called by head coach Vladimir Alekno to replace Muserskiy and he was simply amazing in Berlin.

Volkov reminded on his great performances while he was in great shape with confident conversion of 1st tempo and good blocking anticipation.

How about this wise 1st tempo from him. While many middle blockers would spike this ball out of bounds, Volkov simply changed the angle of his hand and bypassed German block (in semifinals). Piece of cake for Russian giant!
