RIO 2016 M: Kurek’s 36 points were not enough! Russia beat Poland!

Another spectacular game at the Rio 2016 men's volleyball tournament.

Russia defeated Poland after 5 exciting sets and scored their 3rd win in Group B! The reigning Olympic champions were twice in the lead (1-0 ad 2-1 in sets), but they managed to break the resistance of persistant Polish crew only after playing a thrilling tie-break.

Russia had 4 match points in the 5th set, as they were up ahead by 14:10, but they missed the first 3 – 14:13!!! At the end, the game was closed with a service mistake. Rafal Buszek served the ball out of bounds and Russia clinched the set by 15:13.

Although the Russian team had 5 players with double digits, the top scorer of the match came from Poland. Bartosz Kurek played an incredible game as he scored 36 points for his team!!!

Poland – Russia 2:3 (18:25, 25:16, 18:25, 25:22, 13:15)

Poland: Kurek 36, Bienek 10, Mika 9, Kubiak 6, Buszek 5, Klos 4, Nowakowski 3, Lomacz 2, Konarski, Drzyzga, Zatorski, Bednorz.

Russia: Mikhailov 18, Kliuka 16, Tetyukhin 15, Volvich 12, A. Volkov 10, Grankin 3, Kobzar, D. Volkov, Ashchev, Bakun, Verbov, Ermakov.

Group B: Poland 3-1 (9 points), Argentina 3-1 (9 points), Russia 3-1 (8 points), Iran 2-2 (7 points), Egypt 1-3 (3 points), Cuba 0-4 (0 points).

Alekno can, really he can not even without Leon and Anderson, but without many other stars such Butko, dmtry mussersky,…he can beat poland, where are their fans!!!
