USA have raised! In the most important match for Speraw's side in Rio, they downed France in four sets to keep the big chances for getting the quarterfinals ticket 3-1 (25-22, 25-22, 14-25, 25-22).

In the first set, #TeamYavbou was leading almost the whole time but they somehow dropped a huge advantage (17:11). The U.S. team managed to turnaround the score and to take the lead.

We almost watched the same scenario in the second set. France had 18-16 lead, but Speraw’s side started making some good blocks and after stopping Rouzier and Ngapeth twice, USA got 19-18 lead. They continued playing well, Tillie’s team couldn’t stop them so #TeamYavbou had to surrender, 25-22.

But, France got angry in the third set. They again were leading, but U.S. team couldn’t do anything to stop Ngapeth, who was playing on a much higher level than in a previous two sets. “Les Bleus” started game with 5-0 lead then they went on 8-2. Afterwards, France even increased the lead to 21-12 and at the result 24-13, they had 11 set points…

In the fourth set, both teams were playing “point after point” game. At the result 19:18 for USA, Anderson’s hit separated two sides, 20:18! A few moments later, Team Yavbou didn’t receive ball well so they lost the point and USA had three point lead.

At the result 24:22, France saved one match point. Rouzier had chance to save the second match ball but he sent ball wide for big celebration of U.S. team.

Now, French team got into trouble as they have to beat Brazil in the last round to secure the spot in the quarterfinals. USA will have an easy job in the last match of Pool A – Mexico.

If Canada looses to Italy 3-0…even if France looses to Brazil 3-0, France and Canada will be tied with points and sets..it will come down to set ratio.
