Kuzbass
Silver medalists Dinamo Moscow suffered a second defeat in two rounds. While the first one was pretty much expected (against Zenit Kazan), the second came as a shock. Kuzbass Kemerovo, led by amazing Viktor Poletaev (on loan from Zenit) who scored 26 points, downed a team from the capital city at home 3-1 (25-19, 23-25, 25-19, 29-27). German Sebastian Schwarz added 16 points. Pavel Kruglov highlighted in Dinamo with 17 points.
Belogorie Belgorod’s project consisted of young and not so big volleyball names seems as a disaster at the moment. They lost another game. This time, Fakel Novy Urengoy were better than the Russian giants 3-2 (19-25, 26-24, 26-24, 21-25, 15-11).
Zenit Kazan demolished hosts Ural Ufa in straight sets of which the first one was pure demonstration of power 3-0 (25-9, 25-21, 25-16). Maksim Mikhailov scored 14 while Cuban Wilfredo León added 12 points for the reigning Superliga champions. Andrey Kolesnik had 9 in Ural.
