Volkov
Experienced middle blocker Aleksandr Volkov will miss the upcoming season with „Zbornaya“ for personal reasons but will be at a disposal of head coach Sergey Shlyapnikov next year.
“I talked with Sasha Volkov, he asked to be left to rest this year. We understand this. Players like him have done a lot for Russian volleyball, we need to give them the opportunity to put their bodies in order so, in the future we could count on them. Volkov will not be with us this year, but will be next year,” Shlyapnikov explained why the name of Volkov was not on his list.
