The main reasons are the huge financial problems which Dinamo Krasnodar had during the last season.
On the other side, Zenit Sankt Peterburg is newly formed Men’s club in Russia and from season 2017/2018 will start competing in the top division.
“We have a change in our league. Male club Dinamo Krasnodar has withdrawn from the championship 2017/18. Instead of them, in the next season will compete “Zenit” from St. Petersburg. In the men’s Super League we will have 14 clubs, as well as last season. Everything else is the same” said Alexander Yaremenko, General Secretary of the Russian Volleyball Federation.
Recall that players and all employees in Dinamo Krasnodar did not receive salaries from July 2016 to February 2017 both male and female club to boycott one match in the national championship.
Dinamo Krasnodar will compete in “B” League which is the third largest after the Russian Super League and “A” League.
“In the women’s Super League is no change. Dinamo Krasnodar will continue to play in the Super League” he added.
