The U.S. receiver Matt Anderson will miss the first five matches of the 2017/2018 Russian Championship Superliga due to the national team duties.

“It is planned that Anderson joins us on October 3 or 4,” Zenit coach Vladimir Alekno stated for the “Business Online”.

Anderson will firstly compete with the U.S. National Team in the 2017 FIVB World Grand Champions Cup from September 12 to September 17, and then in the NORCECA Qualifying Tournament for the 2018 FIVB World Championship from September 26 to October 1.

Thus, according to the Russian League schedule, the receiver will miss the first five matches of Zenit in the competition.
