“I am very glad that I came in Saratov. I’ve been here many years ago, as a player. I remember this hall and there is nostalgia for those times. First of all, I would like to mention the work of Roman Kukushkin. He worked for many years in the club. That’s why Proton has earned a reputation as a pretty serious opponent. When we talk about my period in Russia, as a head coach of this team, we had only two bad games. Unfortunately, one of them is against Serbia in the quarterfinals at the Olympic Games. It was a personal tragedy for me. I think there were much more positive moments. And when I received an offer from Proton, I decided to accept it,” says Marichev.
