Argentina defeated Chile 3-1 (25-16, 21-25, 25-21, 25-22) in the first match of the day at the South American Championship. Agustín Loser of Argentina was the top scorer of the match with 20 points. With this victory, Argentina secured a place in the 2022 World Championship together with Brazil, another undefeated team in the competition so far.
In the second game of the day, Colombia beat Peru 3-1 (25-21, 25-16, 23-25, 25-15). The top scorer of the match was Liberman Agamez from Colombia with 19 points, and for the Peruvian team captain Eduardo Romay scored 12.
The decisive matches for the medals at the South American Championship will be on Sunday when Argentina meets Brazil for the title, while in the second match of the day Colombia will play against Chile for bronze.
The competition is played in a single round-robin format (each team plays with every other team once).
