A 26-year-old Madison Kingdon will play for THY in the 2019/20 season. A one-time FIVB Nations League and two-time Pan American Cup winner with the U.S. national team spent the last three seasons playing in Asia, more specific in Korea (IBK Industrial Bank Altos) and China (Beijing). Two years ago, Kingdon recorded the third best single-game scoring display in the history of the Women’s volleyball – 57 points.
The İstanbul side announced several more news regarding the roster for the next season. A 34-year-old middle blocker İpek Ercan ended her professional career. THY extended contracts with both liberos, a 35-year-old libero Funda Bilgi and youngster Berin Yıldırım, and with a legend of the country’s volleyball – the setter Özge Kırdar Kinasts.
THY finished the 2018/19 in Turkey in the playoff quarterfinals, being eliminated by Fenerbahçe Opet, which was a notable result knowing that the club debuted this season in the country’s top division.
