The top seed ZAKSA took a 1-0 lead against the No.2 seed ONICO in the best-of-five series of the Plus Liga 2018/2019 playoff finals.

The two teams have met several times this season, with ZAKSA having a better score overall. Game 1 of the finals had several twists and turns and the biggest one came in the fourth set in which ONICO had a 15-7 lead but fought hard to win the set as the MVP of the match Mateusz Bieniek started to break the defense of the side from the Polish capital.

Łukasz Kaczmarek top-scored for ZAKSA with 19 points. Mateusz Bieniek made 79% perfect attack (11/14, blocked once). Maciej Muzaj, who strengthened ONICO just before the playoff semifinals as a medical joker, scored game-high 24 points, including five kill blocks. Andrzej Wrona set up six kill blocks for the losing side who finished the match with the team’s blocking effort of as much as 17 kill blocks.
