In the 2019 Turkish Women’s Volleyball Super Cup (official name: Spor Toto Kadınlar Şampiyonlar Kupası) that was held in Izmir, the national Cup winners Eczacıbaşı VitrA beat titleholders VakıfBank in five sets: 3-2 (25-14, 25-21, 25-27, 20-25, 15-11).
The match, in which Eczacıbaşı dropped a 2-0 lead in sets but prevailed in the tie-break, lasted for more than two hours (140 minutes exactly). Tijana Bošković was named MVP of the match, receiving a trophy from the hands of the Turkish Volleyball Federation (TVF) President Mehmet Akif Üstündağ. Thus, Serbian opposite hitter earned the second MVP award in less than a month. She was named the best player of the 2019 CEV EuroVolley, in which her national team defended the title, as well.
This was Eczacıbaşı’s fourth Super Cup title, second in a row (2011, 2012, 2018 and 2019).
