Halkbank-vs-Spor-Toto
The most-titled “living” male club in Turkey, Halkbank, made a surprise by defeating Spor Toto in Round 16 of the 2019/20 AXA Sigorta Efeler Ligi regular season. The Ankara team is having a very disappointing season, struggling to reach the playoffs. However, they beat contenders for winning the regular season, Spor Toto, by a 3-1 (25-21, 25-13, 24-26, 26-24) but couldn’t improve their ranking in the standings (remained 7th). Spor Toto are 3rd but can drop to 4th place in case Arkas Spor defeat Galatasaray HDI Sigorta, tomorrow. Moldovan Dmitrii Bahov and 17-year-old Efe Bayram scored 17 points apiece for the winning side with the latter making 5 kill blocks. Brazilian Leonardo Nascimento “Leozinho” tallied 19 points for Spor Toto.
Tokat Belediye Plevne stunned Ziraat Bankası! The team that was last-placed prior to the match (progressed by one position after today’s win), came back from 0-2 to 3-2 against the giants of the country’s volleyball.
