Serbian opposite talked about lot of stuff, playing in Turkey, future goals, ending his career…
The beginning of the league was very good for Fenerbahce Grundig. You defeated HalkBank among others…
“Yes, but it was only one game. For us, the most important thing is to feel we are strong and that we could play good volleyball.”
Your team plays in Challenge Cup, but obviously the goal is to reach the Champions League for the following season:
“If we want to qualify for the Champions League, we have to play good in Turkish league and be champions or vice champions. But, a long way is in front of us. Play-offs are scheduled for March or April… Anyway, there is no doubt that Fenerbahce is getting stronger and I hope next year we will play against best teams in Europe.”
This is your fourth season in Turkey, do you plan to end career on Bosphorus?
“I don’t know. I don’t think about retirement. My focus is on current season. I have a contract with Fenerbahce until the end of it, and then we will see. But, I still enjoy playing volleyball a lot and I do not know when will I say stop.”
Turkish league is attracting more and more quality players…
“At the moment, money is in Turkey. They are investing in best volleyball players. And, if such players continue to come every year, then league will grow rapidly and become even stronger.”
You played in Serbia, Italy, Greece, Turkey… But never in Russia which is considered to have the strongest league. Do you regret about that?
“Honestly, I don’t. And, why should I? For example – I didn’t win the gold medal on World Championship, so should I play for the national team until I win it? I don’t think so. At the moment I am happy that I play in Turkey – Miljković concluded interview for siatka.org.
