Halkbank managed to overturn the semi-final series of the 2021/22 Turkish men’s Volleyball Championship against Arkas Spor to join Ziraat Bankkart in the finals.
For the second time in history – the first dates back to 1996 – it will be the Ankara derby between Halkbank and Ziraat for the title in the AXA Sigorta Efeler Ligi. Taner Atik’s team, the regular season winners, after losing Game 1, managed to overturn the semi-final series with No.4 Arkas, clinching the decisive game (Game 3) with a score of 3-1.
It wasn’t easy for Halkbank, who in the third set had to recover from 12-16 and cancel a set point before taking the lead in sets of 2-1; After that, Arkas was easy prey for the home side.
