VakifBank, Dinamo Kazan, Azerrail and Chemik Police opened their Champions League campaigns with wins!

Dinamo vs. Lokomotiv

In Istanbul we had a clash between two great scorers. Lonneke Sloetjes was brilliant in VakifBank, while Samanta Fabris was the main star in Novara. Both players made 25 points, but it was Sloetjes who cheered at the end as her VakifBank scored a 3-1 win.

Perhaps a derby of the day was held in Kazan where Dinamo hosted Lokomotiv Baku. Eventually, Russian team prevailed, mostly thanks to excellent performance of Antonella Del Core who finished the match with 18 points.

Still, this was not completely awful day for Azerbaijani teams. Azerrail returned on the big stage with a straight sets win over Stuttgart in Baku. Madison Kingdon led the home side with 12 points.

Finally, Chemik Police had no problems with Prostejov at home. Polish giants left their guests empty-handed and started their new European campaign with convincing win.
