’Vakif’ surprisingly easy defeated fifth-placed Bursa Büyükşehir Belediyesi, in straight sets, with partial 25-22, 28-26, 25-22 in Round 16 of the Turkish Division 1.
After couple of months being in disfavour of coach Giovanni Guidetti, the Brazilian Sheilla Castro has finally returned to Vakıfbank’s roster, even in line-up and… she exploded. Sheilla topped Vakif’s scorers with 19 points!
Her compatriot Joyce Silva ‘Joycinha’ was the best scorer of Bursa with 21.
Galatasaray Daikin was also successful in this round having a bit more trouble than Vakıfbank. They downed last-placed İlbank on road 3-1 (24-26, 25-20, 25-20, 25-21).
Italian Nadia Centoni was the most efficient scorer in ’Galata’ with 20 points while Cuban Yanelis Santos collected 21 in losing team.
