The Russian side outplayed Azeryol in two games and therefore came just a step away from seizing a valuable European trophy.

“It was tough because we were controlling the match quite easily but in the second set Azeryol started to defend a lot better and made it a lot tougher for us. However, everything is fine because in the end we won this match as well and now our next goal is to win against Galatasaray in the finals,” said Dinamo Krasnodar captain Liubov Sokolova.

On the other side, Galatasaray easily prevailed over Schweriner SC and qualified for the grand finals of the CEV Cup.

“We did not start the match the way we expected and had hoped for; when performing at this level you must always show respect towards your opponent. After we came from behind and eventually claimed the opening set, we managed to keep our focus and to win the match. We are happy and delighted to be at this stage of this important competition. As for the finals, we will do our best. You never know what the finals may bring; the atmosphere is always different,” said Galatasaray head coach Ataman Güneyligil.

The final matches of the CEV Cup Finals will be played on March 29 and April 2, 2016.
