BCHJ W: Turkey won the gold medal

Turkey claimed the gold medal as the 2016 edition of the Balkan Women’s Junior Championship drew to a close in Bijeljina after five competition days.

Turkey easily beat 2015 gold medal winners Serbia 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-21) in the ‘grand finale’ of the tournament.

The podium was completed by Montenegro that won the bronze medal match with Romania cruising to a 3-1 win (25-20, 15-25, 25-23, 25-14). 

Turkey  and Serbia will compete later this month at the Final Round of the 2016 CEV U19 Volleyball European Championship – Women taking place in Nitra (Slovakia) and Györ (Hungary).

Serbia won gold in 2014 and Turkey settled for bronze at the last edition of the Championship which was co-hosted by Finland and Estonia in Tampere and Tartu.
