“Of course, we are very excited about the start of our journey in the CEV Champions League. Because of the new knock-out system it will be the most difficult Champions League we have played so far. In the last six seasons, we reached the Final Four five times. But as I mentioned, this year it will be much more difficult for every team to get there. Also we will play in the toughest group but we are very motivated and as usual we want to achieve the best possible result. We want to get a good start with our first game against Uralochka-NTMK EKATERINBURG. I wish a good season to all teams and of course a lot of fun to all Volleyball fans”, says Guidetti.
“To seize the Champions League crown is the most important goal for us. We know it will be a long and tough season. Uralochka-NTMK EKATERINBURG have tall and powerful players. However, this upcoming game will be our first CEV Champions League match in our new hall. So it will be very special for us. We want to make our fans happy, so we will give our best when taking to the court,” adds captain Gözde Kirdar.
“The CEV Champions League is always difficult. But this year it will be very tough from the beginning to end. In our group we have three important competitors like Eczacibasi VitrA ISTANBUL, Uralochka-NTMK EKATERINBURG and DRESDNER SC. If we want to be at the top at the end of the group phase, we have to be much focussed to give our best in every single match. Also we are aware of our power as VakifBank ISTANBUL and we know we can succeed in achieving our goals”, says Kimberly Hill.
