LOVB Atlanta continued its impressive run with a commanding sweep of LOVB Austin (25-19, 25-21, 25-15), pushing their record to 11-3 and locking in a coveted first-round bye in the League One Volleyball (LOVB) Finals. But despite the win, Atlanta hasn’t secured the regular season title just yet.

That’s because LOVB Houston kept the pressure on with a hard-fought 3-1 win over LOVB Omaha, improving to 9-5 and staying within striking distance. While Atlanta has secured one of the two first-round byes into next month’s LOVB semifinals, Houston still has a chance to either catch up to Atlanta or be overtaken by LOVB Madison.
Atlanta was led by Danielle Cuttino, who delivered 11 kills. Kelsey Cook added 6 kills and a season-high 4 aces, helping the team dominate at the net with a 15-7 blocking advantage.
“We’re definitely feeling the grind, but mentally we stayed sharp,” said Cuttino. “It’s all about playing smart and finishing strong.”
In the nightcap, Jordan Thompson took over for Houston with 21 kills, and 2 blocks.
“This win was huge,” Thompson said. “Every point matters now. We’re chasing that top-two finish to get a bye into the Finals.”
As the inaugural LOVB season nears its end, the race for playoff positioning is heating up. With LOVB Madison still in contention and key matchups ahead, the regular season title is still very much in play.
