We are always sad to announce these kind of news, but that is life. Nicole Davis decided to retire from volleyball! American libero, who spent last 11 seasons playing in Europe, will finally return home and enjoy time with her family and friends.

“After months of thinking I decided to retire from volleyball. There were several reasons for this call. First of all it was my health, while then I also wanted so much to spend more time with my family and friends back in the USA. I have missed a lot of moments during these 11 years, but I would not change anything in my career. I met many incredible people overseas and in the USA national team and I feel fortunate to have them in my life. I also know that it was a privilege to represent my country on the Olympic Games and I was lucky to do that twice. I will miss wearing the national team jersey, but from now on I will be the biggest fan” said Davis for vivovolley.net.

Nicole Davis won two Olympic silvers with the USA (2008 and 2012) and also the gold at the World Championship 2014. She played for many different clubs in Europe, while her last one was French Le Cannet.
