USA refused to give a single set to Tunisia...

One thing is certain – after Day 8 at the FIVB World Cup in Japan, USA will be the only team with maximum number of wins and points. Americans outplayed Tunisia, as it was expected, but what can truly cheer up their fans is that boys led by John Speraw showed that every set matters to them.

USA have easily escaped to 2-0 in sets and it was quite clear that they would score another win at the tournament, but the third set was the real test of their character. Tunisia shocked everyone in the Hall by escaping from 19:19 to 22:19, and then to 24:22! But, Americans saved every single set point of their opponent. And there were five of them in total!

Firstly, they tied the score at 24:24 thanks to great block. Then, USA squad had to came back from 24:25, 25:26 and finally from 26:27. At the score of 27:27, Tunisian players made a net violation and gave a match point to USA – 28:27. Matt Anderson and his teammates used it! Once again, the block was in the right place at the right time.

We deliberately mentioned Anderson because he was the top scorer of the game with 22 points.
