The fifth-seed Nebraska Cornhuskers beat No.2 Florida Gators in the Championship Finals of this year’s NCAA Division I Tournament, completing the sweep of the top two favorites for the title in only two days as they beat No.1 Pennsylvania State Nittany Lions in the Semifinals.

Nebraska (32-4, Big Ten Conference) routed to a 3-1 victory against Florida (30-2, Southeastern Conference), partially 25-22, 25-17, 18-25, 25-16, in front of the NCAA-record of 18,516 fans at Sprint Center, Kansas City, Missouri, in which the Final Four has been held.
Junior outside hitter Mikaela Foecke made 21 points (20 kills) for the Huskers, who won their fifth national title overall, also the second in three seasons, in the Finals and was named Most Outstanding Player, sharing the award with her teammate Kelly Hunter, a senior setter. A senior outside hitter Carli Snyder topped the Gators with 12 points (11 kills).
