CEV CC M: PIACENZA downs TALLINN to make it to next round

Italy’s Copra Elior PIACENZA edged on Thursday Estonia’s Selver TALLINN in straight sets (25-20, 25-19, and 25-22) to make it to the 1/8 finals of the 2013 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup – Men and play there CVC GABROVO of Bulgaria. PIACENZA needed only 70 minutes to cruise past Estonia’s national champions with Frantisek Ogurcak (pictured, # 9) top scoring with 13 points and well supported by Robertlandy Simon, Hristo Zlatanov, Luca Tencati, Alessandro Fei and Luca Vettori.

Libero Davide Marra also did a good job in the back line for the home side. Martti Juhkami, Hindrek Pulk and Helar Jalg paced Selver with 9, 6 and 7 points respectively. Copra Elior was absolutely outstanding from the serving line as the hosts registered a total of 7 aces in three sets, with Fei, Ogurcak and Simon charting 2 apiece.
