The guests from France started really well with Victoria Ravva, Nadia Centoni and Milena Rasic setting the tempo in the opening set.

VILLA CORTESE changed attitude in set 2 by fixing the block and claiming a very close final rush (26-24).

After RC CANNES had taken set 3, the Italians fought back to draw level and go for the tie-break.

There the guests showed their experience and they could eventually celebrate their sixth consecutive win in the League Round, the only team to do so across all prelim Pools.

Lucia Bosetti top scored tonight for the hosts with 26 points.

My compliments to VILLA CORTESE” says the opposite of RC CANNES, Nadia Centoni.

They played with a young team tonight but they made things quite complicated for us. Their serving was for instance even better than ours. We are hardly waiting for the name of our next opponent in the 1/8 finals and our aim remains to qualify to the final four in Baku”.
