The registration of the various teams was reviewed on Tuesday by a working group of the European Cups Commission (ECC) chaired by ECC President Riet Ooms. “Though some countries are still confronted by the effects of the international crisis, we did not register any decrease in the number of teams applying for participation in the European Cups and this once more testifies the appeal of our competitions and that clubs are greedy for testing their likes on the international stage” Mrs. Ooms says.
The DOL will be – as usual – attended by two neutral observers, namely Willy Bruninx – a member of the European Sports Organizing Commission, a long-time CEV Supervisor and President of the Royal Belgian Volleyball Federation – and Patrick Wagner, the Chairman of Chev DIEKIRCH, the 2013 Luxembourg national champions who are set to celebrate their debut in the European Cups by participating in the CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup. After some years, the Grand Duchy is returning to the European arena also in the women’s division with VC MAMER and RSR WALFER that are both set to compete in the 2014 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup too.
