After the success of Italy against Slovakia, the presidents of the Italian and Bulgarian federations, Carlo Magri and Dancho Lazarov, signed and submitted the protocol, as the official request for the European Championship in 2015.

Two federations are the candidates for the hosts of the European championship. The request is to play the competition in Rome and Palermo in Italy and the final in Sofia. The competitors of the Italian-Bulgarian candidature are Finland and Estonia.
