This was the last home match for Rabita in the League Round and the game started under good auspices with the loud support of the fans and the spikes of local heroine Natalya Mammadova.

DRESDNER SC was missing two starting players due to injury and the Ukrainian setter of Rabita, Iryna Zhukova, shattered the German defense by mastering all of her attackers with great confidence.

Rabita BAKU played some fast game in set 2 mainly via middle blockers Mira Golubovic and Natasa Krsmanovic, going for a second 25-17.

Back from a serious injury Natalya Mammadova displayed a great performance pacing her side with 20 points and setting the tempo also in set 3 (25-16).

We wanted to win this match in straight sets and I am very happy with the result” says Serbian-born head coach Zoran Gajic.

Rabita is a great team and I think they can win this competition being already one of the favorites for the crown” adds DRESDNER SC mentor Alexander Waibl.

They really have great players while we are dealing with some injuries at the moment, but this would not have changed the result” concludes German captain Stefanie Karg.
