Albania’s junior and youth national teams have – for the past few years – participated only in the Balkan Championships organized by the BVA and their results have not fulfilled the expectations.

Such performances shall be improved already this year by taking lessons from the past.

The coaches have asked for additional support from the Technical Commission for the preparation phase leading up to international events and also in the selection/development of young talents.

All attendees agreed that the lack of financial resources evidently influences the results and hence additional help will be asked from the Ministry of Sport.

Albania, nevertheless, maintains a good potential in Volleyball and this year could change the negative trends registered in the past.

The national federation has decided to support all teams by focusing especially on the men’s senior group that will join the 2013 European Championship starting already this coming May.

Additional help will be provided to the junior and youth national teams that are set to join again the Balkan Championships, with the general goal being the display of a decent performance at the Mediterranean Games scheduled for next year in Turkey.

Special training camps shall take place in the coming months as well under the supervision of the coaches and the Technical Commission.
