On the sidelines of all the euphoria regarding the 2019 CEV Champions League semifinal match between PGE Skra Bełchatów and Cucine Lube Civitanova, good news came for the fans of the Plus Liga powerhouse – their captain Mariusz Wlazły will stay in the club for one more year!
“We’ve made a deal and I will play in PGE Skra Bełchatów next season. For me, this is one of many great feelings which have accompanied me throughout my career. I don’t hide that this club is very important to me. I treat him very personally, which is why I’m very happy that I will be able to defend these colors in the future” – said Wlazły, who has been the part of the club for 16 straight years.
Officially, the contract between Skra and Wlazły has not yet been signed, but the terms have been agreed.
Besides Wlazły, several other players put their signatures on a new contract earlier: Jakub Kochanowski, Kacper Piechocki, Milan Katić, Piotr Orczyk, Karol Kłos, Milad Ebadipour, and Grzegorz Łomacz. It is also known that the team will be led in the 2019/20 season by a new head coach given that the Italian Roberto Piazza decided to part ways with Skra at the end of the season. A month ago, he took over Dutch men’s national team.
