France deservingly claimed the title of the best national team in the second edition of the U17 EuroVolley as they finished as the only undefeated side in the tournament (7-0), losing one set only in their campaign and that happened in the final match. Furthermore, France did not suffer a single defeat in the qualifications as well (3-0).
The “Les Bleus“ surpassed the hosts Bulgaria in the final in 4 sets, partially 25-20, 23-25, 25-20, and 25-13, to seize their first gold medal at the continental championship for this age category.
Nathan Canovas, who plays for the youth team of Volley Ball Sennecey Le Grand, highlighted for France in the decider with 15 points and earned the MVP of EuroVolley award. Hilir Henno, a player of Tours youth team and the son of a legendary French libero Huber Henno, scored 11 points. Vladimir Garkov noted 10 points for Bulgaria.
Poland claimed the bronze medal by beating the Czech Republic in straight sets.
